A: Very miserable.

A: It comes… like the moon, once or twice a month.

A: What can we do? Solar energy, and the generator, a subscription.
Q: Okay, what year were you born?
A: I was born in ’52. Q: Where did you grow up?
A: I grew up in Al-Khalwat, Lebanon. Q: And how was the electricity in Al-Khalwat?
A: Before? It was amazing! We used to supply Syria, sell electricity to Syria, before the civil war.
Q: Was there always electricity?
A: 24/7.
Q: And then from the civil war, it started to decline?
A: Yes, the civil war, and we don’t want to get into… “civil war” is better.
Q: So why do you say we don’t have electricity?
A: Because of the damaged power plants, and there’s no fuel… old plants and no fuel.
Q: They aren’t renewing them?
A: That’s what they say…

س: وكيف كانت الكهربا بالخلوات؟
ج: قبلاً؟ كانت بتجنن! كنا نورد لسوريا، نبيع كهربا لسوريا، قبل الحرب الأهلية.
س: كان دائماً في كهربا؟ ج: ٢٤ على ٢٤.
س: وبعدين من الحرب الأهلية بلشت التنتزع؟
ج: إيه الحرب الأهلية، وما بدنا نفوت بـ… الحرب الأهلية أحسن.
س: طيب ليه بتقول ما عنا كهربا؟
ج: من معامل الكهربا المتضررة، وما في فيول… معامل قديمة وما في فيول. س: مش عم بجددوا؟
